August 7, 2015

In June, economic activity increased 3.5% over the same month of last year according to the monthly indicator for economic activity (IMAE, Indice Mensual de la Actividad Economica). Monthly economic activity growth has decelerated consistently since January and now sits at its lowest reading since February of last year.

Annual average growth fell from May’s 4.6% to 4.5% in June, resulting in the lowest reading in six months.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants see GDP growing 3.9% in 2015, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2016, panelists expect the economy to expand 3.6%.
