Guatemala: Growth in economic activity inches down in June
August 7, 2015
In June, economic activity increased 3.5% over the same month of last year according to the monthly indicator for economic activity (IMAE, Indice Mensual de la Actividad Economica). The result was a slight moderation from the revised 3.6% expansion tallied in May (previously reported: +3.9% year-over year). Monthly economic activity growth has decelerated consistently since January and now sits at its lowest reading since February of last year.
Annual average growth fell from May’s 4.6% to 4.5% in June, resulting in the lowest reading in six months.
