Guatemala: Growth in economic activity edges up in November

In November, economic activity increased 3.0% from the same month last of the previous year, according to the monthly indicator for economic activity (IMAE, Índice Mensual de la Actividad Económica). The result was slightly higher than October’s revised 2.9% increase (previously reported: +2.7% year-on-year).

In November, annual average growth was stable at October’s 2.7%, which was the lowest reading since October 2011.

FocusEconomics Consensus panelists forecast that the economy will grow 3.8% in 2017, which is up 0.2 percentage points from last month’s estimate. In 2018, the panel sees GDP growth at 3.7%.
