Guatemala: Economic activity stable in November

In November 2013, economic activity expanded 3.5% over the same month of the previous year according to the monthly indicator for economic activity (IMAE, Indice Mensual de la Actividad Economica). The reading matched the 3.5% rise recorded in October.
As a result, the trend stabilized, with average growth in economic activity remaining unchanged at the previous month's 3.6%, which marks the highest level since April 2012.
The Central Bank expects the economy to grow between 3.3% and 3.9% in 2014. Consensus Forecast participants see GDP growing 3.6% in 2014, which is unchanged from last month's forecast. For 2015, panelists expect the economy to expand also 3.6%.
