Guatemala: Economic activity rises to a one-year high
August 10, 2012
In June, economic activity rose 3.7% over the same month last year, according to the monthly indicator for economic activity (IMAE, Indice Mensual de la Actividad Economica). The reading was slightly up from the 3.6% rise observed in May (previously reported: +3.4% year-on-year) and marked, in fact, the highest reading in one year. Despite the mild improvement, the trend remains stable, with annual average growth in economic activity in June matching May's 3.4% rise.
