Guatemala: Economic activity remains stable, underlying trend improves

In December, economic activity rose 3.8% over the same month the year before, according to the monthly indicator for economic activity (IMAE, Indice Mensual de la Actividad Economica). The reading matched the revised result observed in the previous month (previously reported: +3.7% year-on-year).
As a result of the monthly print, the trend resumed its upward trend, with annual average growth in economic activity inching up from 3.5% in November to 3.6% in December.
