Guatemala: Economic activity remains resilient in September

In September, economic activity rose 3.8% over the same month last year, according to the monthly indicator for economic activity (IMAE, Indice Mensual de la Actividad Economica). The reading matched the result observed in the previous month (previously reported: +4.1% year-on-year), which had marked the strongest expansion since July 2011. As a result of the monthly print, the trend stabilized, with annual average growth in economic activity remaining unchanged at August's 3.4%.
