Guatemala: Economic activity picks up in May

In May, economic activity rose 3.4% over the same month last year, according to the monthly indicator for economic activity (IMAE, Indice Mensual de la Actividad Economica). The reading was slightly up from the 3.3% rise observed in April. Despite the mild improvement, the trend continues to deteriorate, with annual average growth in economic activity falling from 3.5% in April to 3.4% in May.
