Guatemala: Economic activity grows at steady pace in November

In November, economic activity increased 4.1% over the same month of the previous year, according to the monthly indicator for economic activity (IMAE, Indice Mensual de la Actividad Economica). The result matched the readings tallied in the three previous months.

Annual average growth in November came in at 4.4%, which also matched October’s expansion. Annual average growth has been relatively steady in 2015, remaining within plus or minus 0.2 percentage points of 4.6%.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast participants see GDP growing 3.5% in 2016, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2017, panelists expect the economy to expand 3.6%.
