Greece: Unemployment rate edges down in March
June 9, 2016
The number of unemployed fell by 4,609 in March, according to the Hellenic Statistical Authority (EL.STAT.). The result was a smaller fall than the 7,605 decrease observed in February.
The unemployment rate barely fell in March, edging down from February’s 24.2% to 24.1%. March’s figure was below that of the same month last year (March 2015: 25.7%). Despite the improvements registered over the past year, Greece’s unemployment rate is still well above the Eurozone average.
