Ghana: Inflation virtually unchanged in February
March 15, 2017
Consumer prices increased 0.6% in February compared to the previous month, down significantly from January’s 2.8%. The slowdown was driven by smaller price increases across the board, with price rises in the food and non-alcoholic beverages and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels sectors slowing notably.
Inflation remained virtually unchanged at 13.2% in February compared to 13.3% in January, marking the lowest rate since December 2013. Annual average inflation dipped from 17.0% (previously reported: +18.6%) in January to 16.5% in February.
