February 15, 2017
Consumer prices in Ghana increased 2.8% in January compared to the previous month, up significantly from December’s 0.9%. This month’s increase was driven by price increases across the board, with the largest increases recorded in the recreation and culture, furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance, and education sub-categories.
Inflation dipped from 15.4% in December to 13.3% in January, the lowest rate since December 2013, while annual average inflation rose from 17.5% in December to 18.6% in January.
