Germany: Consumer confidence reaches fresh high in July

The forward-looking consumer climate indicator published by the GfK Group edged up from 10.4 points in June to 10.6 points in July.
Looking at other forward-looking sentiment indicators for June published in the same survey, the increase is consistent with the sharp increase in economic and income expectations, thanks to the economy’s healthy start to the year and continued labor market strength. Consumers’ propensity to buy also rose strongly and stands near historic highs.
