France: Industrial output rebounds in October

In seasonally-adjusted terms, industrial output expanded 1.2% month-on-month in October, contrasting a 1.6% contraction in September (previously reported: -1.8% month-on-month s.a.). October’s reading was driven primarily by improved manufacturing output.

On an annual basis, industrial output decreased 0.7% in October, up from a 1.1% decrease a month earlier. Annual average growth notched down to 1.5% from 2.0%.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial output to expand 1.7% in 2019, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2020, panelists project industrial output growth at 1.4%.
