Finland: Current account balance makes seasonal rebound in June

In June, the current account recorded a surplus of EUR 260 million, which broke a streak of eight consecutive negative readings. That said, the figure came in broadly in line with the EUR 288 million surplus tallied in the same month last year. The trade balance posted a surplus of EUR 249 million, which also virtually mirrored the EUR 255 million surplus observed in June last year. Exports contracted 3.9% in June, which came in below the 1.5% drop recorded in May. Meanwhile, imports posted a 4.0% contraction, which followed a 7.9% decline in May.
