Estonia: Inflation edges up in March

Consumer prices rose 0.3% from the previous month in March, up slightly from February’s 0.2% increase. A breakdown of the sub-components provided by Statistics Estonia showed that 8 of the total 12 saw a rise in prices, led by transport, and recreation and culture, which more than offset lower prices for housing and household goods.

Inflation increased to 2.3% in March, from an over two-year low of 2.0% in February. Meanwhile, annual average inflation remained unchanged at the previous month’s 3.2% in March. Lastly, harmonized inflation rose from 1.9% in February to 2.3% in March.
