Estonia: Drop in annual consumer prices stabilizes in August

Consumer prices in August fell 0.3% over the previous month, which was a more moderate decline compared to July’s 0.4% drop. According to Statistics Estonia, the result was influenced mostly by lower prices for electricity, heat, energy and fuels. In contrast, prices for alcoholic beverages rose.
Consumer prices fell 0.3% in August compared to the same month of last year, which mirrored July’s result. Meanwhile, HICP inflation fell from 0.3% in June to 0.1% in July (the most recent month for which data are available). Annual average HICP inflation tallied 0.1% in July for the fourth consecutive month.
