Estonia: Decline in consumer prices moderates in April

Consumer prices in April increased 0.5% over the previous month, which was slightly below March’s 0.6% rise. According to Statistics Estonia, lower prices were recorded for housing and transport. Conversely, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased compared to the previous month.
Consumer prices decreased 0.1% in April compared to the same month of last year, which was a less-pronounced decline than the 0.6% drop tallied in March. Meanwhile, annual HICP inflation rose from a 0.2% decline in February to zero growth in March (the last month for which data are available). Annual average HICP inflation ticked down from February’s 0.2% to 0.1% in March.
