Estonia: Industrial production rises in February
March 30, 2012
In February, industrial production increased a working-day adjusted 1.3% over the same month last year, which contrasted the 0.4% decrease tallied in January. According to Statistics Estonia, February's reading was mostly influenced by an increase in electrical equipment production. A month-on-month comparison confirms the increase reflected in the annual figures, as industrial production rose a seasonally and working-day adjusted 1.34% in February, which was below the 2.40% increase observed in January. Despite the stronger reading in February, annual average growth fell from 14.3% in January to 12.2%, confirming the underlying downward trend in industrial production in place since May 2011.
