Estonia: Industrial production falls in April
June 2, 2015
In April, industrial production decreased a working-day adjusted -0.1% over the same month last year, which contrasted the 1.3% rise tallied in March (previously reported: +1.4% year-on-year). According to Statistics Estonia, April’s slight contraction reflected a deterioration in the energy production sector. Conversely, production in the mining and manufacturing sectors improved in April.
A month-on-month assessment shows that industrial output swung from a 0.6% contraction in March to a 1.1% increase in April. Despite the increase, the overall trend declined in April, with annual average growth in industrial production falling from March’s 3.4% to 3.0%.
