February 3, 2017
According to Statistics Estonia, industrial production expanded a working-day adjusted 6.7% over the same month last year in January, which followed the revised 9.5% increase registered in December (previously reported: +10.0% month-on-month). A double-digit expansion in mining and a strong expansion in manufacturing were behind January’s increase.
A seasonally adjusted month-on-month assessment shows that industrial production swung from a revised 1.2% expansion in December (previously reported: -1.7% year-on-year) to a soft 0.2% expansion in December. Meanwhile, the annual average variation in industrial production picked up from a 1.9 expansion in December to 2.4% in January.
