Egypt: Industrial production carries solid growth momentum in November
January 21, 2015
In November, industrial production expanded 20.7% over the same month of the previous year, which was down from the 25.6% increase recorded in October. The result marks the fourth consecutive expansion above 20.0% and suggests that the economy is regaining its footing. November’s expansion was driven by growth in the tourism, transportation, and manufacturing sectors.
On a sequential basis, industrial production expanded 10.1% over the previous month, which contrasted the 10.9% decline registered in October. Annual average growth in industrial production rose from 5.4% in October to 8.4% in November.
