Ecuador: Inflation drops further in August
September 4, 2015
In August, consumer prices were unchanged over the previous month, which was up from the 0.08% drop seen in July. Lower prices for communication as well as for clothing were offset by higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages as well as for transportation.
Inflation dropped from 4.4% in July to 4.1% in August, thus hitting a five-month low. Annual average inflation was steady at July’s reading of 4.1% in August, thereby maintaining the highest figure since May 2013.
