Dominican Republic: Economic activity decelerates in February

In February, economic activity increased 6.2% over the same month last year, according to the monthly indicator for economic activity (IMAE, Indice Mensual de Actividad Economica). The expansion was a slowdown over the 6.7% increase observed in the previous month and marked the slowest increase since August 2013.
In addition, the trend deteriorated in February, with annual average growth in economic activity inching down from 7.2% in January to 7.1%, thus reaching the lowest value in eight months.
