Denmark: Businesses confidence inches up in November

November 27, 2014

In November, the business confidence indicator developed by Statistics Denmark (DST) rose from October’s minus 16 points to minus 15 points. October’s result had marked the lowest level since June 2009. Despite the slight rise, the indicator remains well below the 0-point threshold, which indicates that pessimists outnumber optimists.

According to DST, November’s reading came on the back of an improvement in completed inventories and overall backlog, while production expectations remain unchanged.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect gross fixed investment growth to reach 1.8% in 2014, which is down 0.4 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2015, panelists forecast an expansion of 2.4%, unchanged from the previous month’s prediction.
