Denmark: Businesses confidence idles in pessimistic territory in February

February 26, 2015

In February, the business confidence indicator developed by Statistics Denmark (DST) held at January’s minus 13 points. As a result, the indicator remains well below the 0-point threshold, which indicates that pessimists outnumber optimists.

According to DST, February’s reading came on the back of a weakening in completed inventories and production expectations, although both components remained positive. Moreover, total backlogs fell further into negative territory in February compared to the previous month.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect gross fixed investment growth to reach 2.3% in 2015, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2016, panelists forecast an expansion of 3.2%.
