Denmark: Businesses confidence deteriorates in September

September 29, 2014

In September, the business confidence indicator developed by Statistics Denmark (DST) fell from August’s minus 5 points to minus 9 points, reversing last month’s gains. The indicator remains well below the 0-point threshold, which indicates that pessimists outnumber optimists.

According to DST, September’s reading came on the back of a deterioration in overall backlog, while production expectations improved over the previous month.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect gross fixed investment growth to reach 2.4% in 2014, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2015, panelists forecast an expansion of 2.5%.
