Denmark: Business confidence turns positive in April

The business confidence indicator for manufacturing developed by Statistics Denmark (DST) came in at plus 1 point in April, which was above March’s minus 1 point. The index is now above the zero-point threshold that separates pessimistic from optimistic sentiment for the first time in almost three years.

According to DST, manufacturers reported an improved backlog of orders and higher production expectations in April compared to March.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect gross fixed investment to grow 2.7% in 2017, which is up 0.4 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2018, panelists forecast an expansion of 2.9%.
