Denmark: Business confidence turns pessimistic in May
May 30, 2012
In May, the seasonally adjusted manufacturing confidence indicator elaborated by Statistics Denmark (DST) dropped to minus 1 point from plus 4 points in April, which marked the lowest level since October 2011. With the monthly drop, the index fell into negative territory, which indicates a pessimistic outlook for the next three months amongst manufacturers. According to DST, May's fall in business sentiment was driven by a notable deterioration in manufacturers' production expectations for the next three months.
