Denmark Business Confidence April 2016

Denmark: Business confidence stable in April

April 29, 2016

The business confidence indicator developed by Statistics Denmark (DST) tallied minus 6 points in April, which matched the previous month’s reading. As a result, the indicator remains under the 0-point threshold, which indicates that pessimists outnumber optimists. The indicator has been in negative territory since May 2014.

According to DST, April’s reading came mainly on the back of a decrease in completed inventories and in the confidence indicator for production.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect gross fixed investment growth to reach 1.3% in 2016, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2017, panelists forecast an expansion of 3.1%.
