Denmark Business Confidence June 2016

Denmark: Business confidence reaches multi-year high in June

June 29, 2016

The business confidence indicator developed by Statistics Denmark (DST) tallied minus 1 point in June, which was a remarkable improvement over the previous month’s minus 8 points and marked the highest result in over two years. However, the indicator has been under the 0-point threshold, which indicates that pessimists outnumber optimists, since May 2014.

According to DST, June’s reading came in mainly on the back of an expansion in the output of intermediate and non-durable goods, which more than offset a decrease in the production of durable goods.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect gross fixed investment growth to reach 1.8% in 2016, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2017, panelists forecast an expansion of 2.9%.
