Denmark: Business confidence improves further in May

May 28, 2015

In May, the business confidence indicator developed by Statistics Denmark (DST) rose to minus 6 points from April’s minus 11 points. The indicator is still resting well below the 0-point threshold, which indicates that pessimists outnumber optimists.

According to DST, May’s reading came on the back of an increase in production expectations and an improvement in total backlog. On the other hand, completed inventories fell in May.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect gross fixed investment growth to reach 2.5% in 2015, which is up 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2016, panelists forecast an expansion of 3.4%.
