Denmark: Business confidence deteriorates further in July

July 30, 2015

In July, the business confidence indicator developed by Statistics Denmark (DST) fell to minus 11 points from June’s revised minus 8 points (previously estimated: -9 points). The indicator is resting further below the 0-point threshold, which indicates that pessimists outnumber optimists.

According to DST, July’s reading came mainly on the back of a decrease in total backlogs. On the other hand, completed inventories and production expectations improved in July.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect gross fixed investment growth to reach 2.5% in 2015, which is up 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2016, panelists forecast an expansion of 3.4%.
