Czech Republic: Industry expands in January
February 13, 2015
In January, industrial production grew 2.9% over the same month last year, coming in below the 7.3% contraction observed in December. According to the Statistical Office, January’s expansion came on the back of increased manufacture of vehicles and of electrical and transport equipment.
A sequential comparison shows that industrial production decelerated from a 0.6% rise in December to a 0.4% increase in January.
The trend continued to moderate as annual average growth in industrial production inched down from 4.9% in December to 4.7% in January, which marked the lowest rate in eight months.
