Czech Republic: Industrial production growth slows in July

September 7, 2015

Industrial production increased 4.6% year-on-year in July, which represented a deceleration compared to the 8.7% expansion registered in June. July’s expansion was mainly driven by the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, and of rubber, plastic and metal products.

A month-on-month comparison showed that industrial output in July rose 1.2% in seasonally-adjusted terms, which came in above June’s 1.0% increase. The trend moderated as annual average growth in industrial production eased from June’s 4.3% to 4.0% in July.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial output to expand 4.9% in 2015, which is up 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2016, panelists expect industrial output to expand 4.8%.
