Czech Republic: Industrial output grows at quickest pace since June 2021 in September

Industrial output grew 8.3% year on year in working-day adjusted terms in September, which was above August's 7.2% increase. September's result marked the best reading since June 2021. Looking at the details of the release, manufacturing production weakened in September, and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply output swung to contraction.

On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, factory output fell 0.2% in September (August: +0.8% mom). Meanwhile, the trend improved significantly, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at 0.7% in September, contrasting August's minus 0.4% reading.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial output to expand 1.8% in 2023, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. In 2024, they see industrial production growing 3.8%.
