Croatia: Industrial production rebounds in February

In February, industrial output rose 2.0% over the same month last year in working-day adjusted terms, contrasting January’s 4.9% drop. The increase reflected a turnaround in manufacturing. Conversely, the mining and quarrying as well as the electricity, gas and steam sectors performed worse than in January.

On a monthly basis, industrial production increased 3.5% in seasonally-adjusted terms in February, contrasting January’s 4.0% decline. The overall trend improved as annual average growth in industrial production inched up from January’s 0.7% to 0.8% in February.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to expand 1.5% in 2015, which is unchanged from last month’s estimate. In 2016, the panel sees industrial production growth at 2.5%.
