Croatia: Industrial production growth picks up in March

April 29, 2015

In March, industrial output rose 3.6% over the same month last year in working-day adjusted terms, coming in above February’s 1.8% increase. The pick-up reflected a turnaround in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning as well as an acceleration in mining and quarrying. Manufacturing growth was broadly unchanged.

On a monthly basis, industrial production increased 2.5% in seasonally-adjusted terms in March, coming in below February’s 3.4% rise. The overall trend improved as annual average growth in industrial production inched up from February’s 0.8% to 1.0% in March.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to expand 1.4% in 2015, which is unchanged from last month’s estimate. In 2016, the panel sees industrial production growth at 2.5%.
