Colombia: Pace of industrial production increases in November

In November, industrial production rose 4.8% over the same month of the previous year, which marked an acceleration compared to the 1.3% increase recorded in October and marked the highest reading since March 2014. The print reflected increases in 26 out of the 39 index’s sub-categories. The result mainly came on the back of improvements in oil refining activities and drink production.Panelists surveyed for this month’s LatinFocus report expect that industrial production will expand 4.2% in 2016, which is up 0.4 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2017, the panel expects industrial production to increase 3.7%.
