Colombia: Industrial production slows in October

In October, industrial production (excluding coffee threshing) rose 0.3% over the same month last year, which came in below the 1.5% increase tallied in September. The reading reflected increases in 25 of the index’s 43 sub-categories. The milling industry, chemical products and substances as well as electronic products made the greatest contributions to October’s mild expansion.

Annual average growth in industrial production in October remained at September’s 1.3%.

LatinFocus Consensus Forecast participants expect that industrial production will expand 3.0% in 2015, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2016, the panel expects industrial production to increase 3.2%.
