Colombia: Industrial production hits three-month high in October
Industrial production grew 2.1% on an annual basis in October, jumping from September’s 0.5% expansion (previously reported: +0.3% year-on-year) and marking the highest reading since July according to the Statistical Institute (DANE). A breakdown by industrial activity reveled that upbeat production in the processing and preserving of meat; the manufacture of basic iron and steel; and the manufacture of grain mill products, starches and starch products largely drove October’s improved reading.
Annual average growth in industrial production fell to 1.8% in October, from 2.3% in September.
