Colombia: GDP growth continues to slow in Q4

In Q4 2014, GDP grew 3.5% over the same quarter of the previous year, which came in below the 4.2% increase registered in Q3 and represented the slowest pace of growth since Q1 2013. The reading undershot market expectations of a 4.0% increase. In seasonally-adjusted terms, the economy expanded 0.7% over the previous quarter, which was a smaller expansion than Q3’s 0.9%.

In the full year 2014, GDP grew 4.6%, which marked a slowdown compared to 2013’s 4.9% More detailed GDP data will be released on 24 March.

LatinFocus Consensus Forecast panelists project that GDP will expand 3.5% in 2015, which is down 0.1 percentage points from the previous month’s estimate. In 2016, panelists expect GDP to grow 3.5%.
