Colombia: GDP growth continues to slow in Q1 2015

In Q1 2015, GDP grew 2.8% over the same quarter of the previous year, which came in below the 3.5% increase registered in Q4 and represented the slowest pace of growth since Q3 2012. The reading was in line with market expectations. In seasonally-adjusted terms, the economy expanded 0.8% over the previous quarter, which was a larger expansion than Q4’s 0.6%. More detailed GDP data will be released on 23 June.

LatinFocus Consensus Forecast panelists project that GDP will expand 3.2% in 2015, which is down 0.1 percentage points from the previous month’s estimate. In 2016, panelists expect GDP to grow 3.3%.
