Colombia: GDP growth accelerates slightly in Q3

In Q3, GDP grew 3.2% over the same quarter of the previous year, which came in slightly above the 3.0% increase registered in Q2. The reading was in line with market expectations and marked the highest reading in three quarters. In seasonally-adjusted terms, the economy expanded 1.2% over the previous quarter, which was a stronger expansion than Q2’s 0.5% and marked the strongest increase since Q1 2014. More detailed GDP data will be released on 22 December.

Panelists participating in the LatinFocus Consensus Forecast project that GDP will expand 3.2% in 2015, which is down 0.1 percentage points from the previous month’s estimate. In 2016, panelists expect GDP to grow 3.3%.
