Colombia: GDP growth accelerates slightly in Q2 2015

In Q2, GDP grew 3.0% over the same quarter of the previous year, which came in slightly above the 2.8% increase registered in Q1. The reading overshot market expectations of a 2.9% rise. In seasonally-adjusted terms, the economy expanded 0.6% over the previous quarter, which was a softer expansion than Q1’s 0.9%. More detailed GDP data will be released on 22 September.

LatinFocus Consensus Forecast panelists project that GDP will expand 3.2% in 2015, which is down 0.1 percentage points from the previous month’s estimate. In 2016, panelists expect GDP to grow 3.3%.
