Colombia Consumer Confidence October 2022

Colombia: Consumer confidence records worst reading since June 2021 in October

November 8, 2022

According to a survey elaborated by Fedesarrollo , consumer confidence came in at minus 19.5 in October, down from September's minus 11.5. October's result marked the weakest sentiment since June 2021. As such, the index remained below the 0-point threshold, signaling pessimism among consumers.

The decline was due to greater pessimism in consumers’ view of their present and 12-month economic situations as well as the country’s general economic condition.

LatinFocus Consensus Forecast participants see private consumption expanding 1.7% in 2023, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. In 2024, private consumption growth is seen at 2.7%.
