Colombia Consumer Confidence December 2015

Colombia: Consumer confidence falls in December

February 15, 2016

The Fedesarrollo consumer sentiment index fell from November’s 6.7 points to 1.1 points in December. Despite the decrease, the index remains slightly above the 0-point threshold that separates optimistic from pessimistic territory.

The result came on the back of deteriorations in consumers’ view of both present and expected general economic conditions in Colombia.

LatinFocus Consensus Forecast participants expect total consumption to expand 2.6% in 2016, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2017, the panel expects total consumption to increase 3.2%.
