China: Investment growth slightly below expectations in 2010

In the full-year 2010, nominal urban fixed-asset investment increased 24.5%. The reading was slightly below the 25.0% growth expected by the market and represented a marginal deceleration compared to the 24.9% increase recorded in the January-November period. In 2009, investment grew 30.5%. Based on the full-year growth rate published by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), urban fixed-asset investment expanded 21.9% in December over the same month the previous year (November: +29.1% year-on-year).
