China: Industrial production expands strongly in September
Industrial production increased 5.8% year-on-year in September, up from August’s 4.4% expansion and beating analysts’ expectations of a 5.0% rise. The reading was led by strong output in the mining and manufacturing sectors, while dynamics in the energy sector were stable.
On a month-on-month seasonally-adjusted terms basis, industrial production increased 0.72% in September, up from the 0.34% increase in August. Annual average growth in industrial production, meanwhile, was flat at 5.7% in September.
