China: Growth in house prices inches up in October

House prices in 70 large- and medium-sized cities rose 0.3% in October from the previous month, according to a weighted average index calculated by Thomson Reuters from data issued by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The print was a notch above the 0.2% increase in September. According to the NBS, the sale price of newly-constructed residential buildings increased in 50 cities (44 in September).

House prices rose 5.4% annually in October, which was below September’s 6.3% increase and marked a 19-month low. Annual average growth in house prices fell from 10.7% in September to 10.1% in October.
