Canada: House prices rise again in June, reaching record high

July 15, 2014

The Teranet-National Bank National Composite House Price index rose 0.9% over the previous month in June, coming in marginally above May’s 0.8% increase and representing the largest monthly gain in a year. The countrywide index increased to a record high of 164.0 points.

Regarding regional developments, housing prices rose in 7 of the 11 metropolitan markets surveyed. On an annual basis, house prices rose 4.4% in June, which was slightly down from May’s 4.6% expansion.
